We are a family-owned small business with strong Pittsburgh roots

For over 50 years, we’ve created custom furniture for homes, restaurants, resorts, and Fortune 500 companies.

In 1969, John Ruscella opened a custom furniture and upholstery studio on Matthew’s Way in East Liberty. As his business grew, he hired a young and eager apprentice, Frank Cinefra.

Frank, taught by his father, started working for John in 1973. As Frank honed his skills under John’s mentorship, he excelled in all aspects of the craft, from constructing frames to fabric cutting and spring tying. Eventually, Frank took charge of production, quality assurance, and a team of 6 employees at the shop.

By the mid-80’s, Frank had become sole owner of Ruscella’s Fine Upholstery. In 2018, Frank “semi-retired” from the business. His sons now operate Frank’s Fine Furniture in Verona, carrying on Frank’s legacy by offering custom upholstery, quality craftsmanship, great customer service, and value.
